India developed a dominant performance to demolish Scotland by eight wickets in the Super 12 stage of the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Having scripted the win with just 81 runs to spare, records took a fall.
Former champion India was on a roll, as it beat minnow Scotland by eight wickets with 81 balls to spare in Group 2's Super 12 tie of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday. With this win, India's hopes of making it to the semis have bolstered significantly, while some of the records took a tumble too.

Scotland produces lows too
- Matthew Cross could score just a couple of runs tonight. Consequently, his strike rate took a fall, which is 84.76, as it happens to be the worst for the side in the tournament this season. Overall, it is the second-worst after Zane Green (76.92).
- In an interesting observation, Scotland lost 14 wickets against the spinners during the Super 12 stage of the competition this season. It happens to be the joint-most for any side this season during the stage.
- It was the eighth time that a side was dismissed under 100 in any edition of the tournament, making it the joint-most along with the 2014 edition.
- It was also the second-lowest total by the side against India in the competition (85), while the lowest happens to be by England (80) in 2012.

India registers some fastest and top ones
- India managed to score 50 runs within the fourth over, which was its fastest in the format to date.
- India managed 82/2 in the Powerplay (six overs), which happened to be the highest PP total in the tournament this year, besides being India's highest in the format to date. Overall, it is the third highest in the competition to date, with the highest being 91/1 by the Netherlands against Ireland.
- KL Rahul scored an 18-ball half-century, the third joint-fastest in the tournament, along with Glenn Maxwell in 2014 after Stephan Myburgh (17) and Yuvraj Singh (12).
- India registered its fastest win in the tournament, with 81 balls to spare, while the overall fastest is by Sri Lanka (90) against the Netherlands in 2014.
