Andrew Symonds: The Australian all-rounder is already in the bad books of many following his involvement in the monkey gate scandal against Harbhajan Singh. On top of it, it was in 2009 when during the ICC World T20 in England, he was involved in late-night drinking, as Cricket Australia (CA) dropped him from the squad, which also marked the end of his cricketing career. Nonetheless, Symonds later revealed that he was not alcoholic, but a binge-drinker.

Ricky Ponting: The former Australian skipper, too, shockingly makes the list. Apparently, during the initial phase of his career, he had issues with alcoholism. It was in 1999 when during an Australia’s Ashes Test loss to England in Sydney, he was left with a black left eye after some heavy drinking at a club in King’s Cross area, while he found himself at the team hotel the next morning. It was thereon he decided to give up on it, and he eventually did.

Andrew Flintoff: The prolific English all-rounder, too, had a tendency to get drunk on occasions. It was during the 2007 ICC World Cup in the West Indies, when after getting heavily intoxicated, Flintoff fell in a river, nearly drowning. However, he was lucky, as a passing boat rescued him and brought him back capsized. He faced heavy backlash from England management for this incident and was stripped of the vice-captaincy role. Nonetheless, he survived a possible death in the process.

It was in 2013 at the Shooshh Club, at King’s Road Arches, in Brighton, he was asked to leave the club on alleges of woman harassment. He went on to urinate on the bouncers through a promenade above the club. As a result, he was dropped from the English side thereon, which also marked the end of his international career.
