Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, 2nd Test: India on top at stumps on Day 1 after Australia skittled for 195

India is taking on Australia in the second of the four-Test series, in Melbourne, to defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, against Australia. India is coming off a severe loss in the opening day-night Test, in Adelaide. As of now, India is off to a promising start, on Day 1.

India finished on top, having skittled Australia for 195 on Day 1 of the Boxing-Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday, courtesy Jasprit Bumrah's four-for. At stumps, India is 361, trailing the host by 159 runs.

Winning the toss, Australian skipper, Tim Paine, elected to bat first, as the host moved in without prolific opener, David Warner. As for India, young opener Shubman Gill and seamer Mohammed Siraj made their debut, while Ajinkya Rahane leads the side on Virat Kohli's absence.

The Australian openers were off to a shaky start, with Joe Burns again falling for cheap, as he was dismissed for an unfortunate duck by pacer Jasprit Bumrah, after being caught behind by Rishabh Pant, at the score of 10.
