While the entire world is battling the deadly coronavirus, doctors, medical staff and paramedics are risking their all to save mankind. The lead of Kancheli movie, actress Shikha Malhotra, came forward to help the sick as she could no longer withstand the pain of seeing people suffer because of coronavirus.

Before entering the entertainment industry, Shikha completed her nursing course from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, in 2014.

Shikha, who learnt about coronavirus cases increasing day by day, decided to serve as a volunteer nurse. Shikha has also obtained permission from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to serve as a volunteer nurse.

Shikha is currently employed as a volunteer nurse at Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackerey Trauma Care Municipal Hospital (Krsnaa Diagnostics) in Jogeshwari East, Mumbai. She is currently in charge of the isolation ward at the hospital.

Shikha shared some photos of her working in the hospital on her Instagram. She said, "After completing the course in college, I had taken an oath to involve myself in social service. Now, I think is the right time to do so.”

Shikha has been heaping praises from all quarters and her fans have commended her decision. Shikha's mother is also a nurse, who serves the sick.
