Honda unveils the most powerful Rebel, the CMX1100

Honda unveiled the new Rebel CMX1100 which Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer pays homage to the fat-tyred 'bobber' silhouette of days gone by.
 

Though it is still not clear when the Rebel CMX1100 will be unveiled in India, the new bike will come in a retro design, with round headlamps, round mirrors, tier-drop shape fuel tank and black alloy wheels.

The Rebel CMX1100 has a torquey, characterful parallel twin-cylinder engine that features Throttle By Wire management, 4 riding modes, Honda selectable torque control and wheelie control. This engine generates power of 102hp at 7,500rpm and 105Nm peak torque at 6,250rpm.

The engine will be mated to a six-speed transmission or a DCT automatic transmission. The bike will come with 18-inch wheels at the front and a 16-inch wheel at the rear. Cruise control is standard and Honda's unique, six-speed dual clutch transmission an option.

Honda have given the Rebel CMX1100 a flangeless fuel tank features two-tone paint, both front and rear mudguards are drawn from 1mm-thick steel and mount with die-cast aluminium brackets. Seat height is just 700mm, and the soft-density material contoured to give support under hard acceleration. An offset, 120mm diameter negative digital display offers intuitive information delivery while wide, uncluttered handlebars mount with substantial, 1-inch clamps.
