Why Sonu Nigam refused to work with AR Rahman

As per a report, Sonu Nigam had been offered a song for the film 'Robot' seven years ago. Owing to the controversial lyrics of the film, Sonu declined to lend his voice to it. Not just that, he reportedly advised music composer AR Rahman not to be a part of the project.

A year later, a similar discussion took place between Sonu and Himesh Reshammiya too. But this time, when Sonu refused to sing vulgar lyrics, even Himesh was encouraged and shelved the song completely.

Sonu has been quite vocal against singing songs which have inappropriate lyrics.
