Why is violence okay, but lip-locks a taboo? asks Luthfudeen

Tamil actor Nasser's son Luthfudeen raised eyebrows when he shot a lip-lock scene with Singaporean actress Narelle Kheng for his upcoming Kollywood film, Parandhu Sella Vaa directed by Dhanapal Padmanaban.

In an interview with an entertainment website, Luthfudeen Baasha, Nassar's second son, who made his cinema debut with AL Vijay's Saivam, said "I think it is only in our state that lip-lock scenes are considered a taboo. I had no apprehension about kissing on screen. Also, my co-star is a Singaporean, and she was comfortable with it."

Luthfudeen adds, "That scene was already in the script, and so I was prepared for it. But then, considering that it's a Kollywood film, I wanted to ask the director if there was any other option. But even before that, the director went for the take. However, I okayed it in one take."

The young actor says his parents did not have any issues with the lip-lock, either. "They understand it's just a film. Even violent murder scenes are shown on screen. While they are taken lightly, lip-lock becomes an issue," he says.

Tamil movies are high on technology when it comes to making films, and Kollywood has scaled newer heights in the past few years.  

But intimate scenes like lip-locks are still considered a taboo.
