Initially, Aishwarya was also considered for the role of the Anjali Sharma, played by Kajol. Director Karna Johar was all set to approach Aishwarya for the role if at all Kajol had refused to sign the movie.

This information was revealed in the book ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, written by Karan Johar himself. He had thought about Aishwarya as he was not sure if Kajol would agree to play the role. The reason being that Kajol was married and there were rumours that she would bid good bye to the films.

However, if Kajol had not accepted the project, it would have been like the family affair, where Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan had also acted in the movie. However, Shah Rukh and Kajol’s pair had their magic, and everyone loved to see Kajol back on the screen.
