Blow to controversial actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan after Mumbai's Esplanade Court on Tuesday rejected his bail application.
The actor was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in March for his alleged involvement in a drug racket in Mumbai.
After his name cropped up during interrogation from a drug peddler, the NCB picked him up from Mumbai Airport while he was returning from Rajasthan.
The NCB is of the view that Khan is part of Mumbai's drug syndicate 'Batata Gang'. It is said that during intense grilling of arrested peddler Shadab Batata, Khan's name cropped and hence he was arrested and later remanded to NCB's custody.
While khan contended that he is innocent and has no drugs and the tables that were found in his house were sleeping pills which are used by his wife who has depression. However, the police say his arrest is in connection with a drug syndicate after his name appeared during a probe.
The actor became a suspect as his past also comes to haunt now. Earlier Navi Mumbai's Anti-Narcotics Cell had picked Khan from a Mumbai hotel. It is alleged during the time of arrest, 8 'ecstasy drugs' tablets were found in the actor's possession then in 2018.
