Naam Shabana, Prithviraj's third shot to Bollywood stardom

Going by the first trailer that released last week, Prithviraj is playing Tony, the most wanted man by the Indian Secret Service.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is the son of Malayalam actors Sukumaran and Mallika is one of the favourite actors in Mollywood. In the current lot, he is one of the most talented and good looking actors. 

 

Last week was very special for Prithviraj as his horror thriller Ezra got released along with Mammootty's The Great Father teaser which Prithviraj is producing. The teaser has set a new record in the history of Malayalam film industry by crossing 1 Million views in 3 hours. 

 

 

 

 

On the same day, the trailer of his third Bollywood movie, Naam Shabana, featuring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu was launched. The movie is the prequel to 2014 spy thriller, Baby, and it centres around Taapsee Pannu’s character from the original movie, Shabana Khan. 

 

Prithviraj made his Bollywood debut with Aiyyaa, which had actress Rani Mukerji in the lead. The movie was an erotic romantic comedy film, where he plays a South guy whom Rani is obsessed with. Aiyyaa did well at the box office but was ultimately considered a flop due to the negative reviews and poor overseas performance.

 

His second movie Aurangzeb starring Arjun Kapoor in a double role and had Prithviraj playing a cop. Even though critics appreciated the performances of the actors in this film, but, this cop-gangster drama failed to create a buzz in the box office.

 

 

Naam Shabana is his third Bollywood film, and since the prequel Baby was a hit, this one is also expected to woo the audience. 

 

Apart from Prithviraj who plays the antagonist, Taapsee plays the title role, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Danny Denzongpa reprise their role from the prequel. Also, this one has the talented Manoj Bajpayee to complete a fabulous cast. The movie has been written by Neeraj Pandey and has been directed by Shivam Nair.
