The VMAS 2023 nominees have been out, and it appears that we have some surprising shocks and some predicted leaders of the pack. See if your fave cut!
The MTV Video Music Awards nominees for 2023 are now available, and it's time to discover if your favourites cut. This year is all about female power, with women sweeping the nominations in the major categories. Taylor Swift and SZA top the charge with eight and six nominations for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Both were nominated for Video of the Year for their work on "Anti-Hero" and "Kill Bill," respectively. Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith, and Kim Petras are all tied for second place with five nominations. The event will occur on September 12 at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey. All of the nominees are listed here.
This year's first-time candidates include Boygenius, GloRilla, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, Flo Milli, Reneé Rapp, and Peso Pluma. Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny, Shakira, Janelle Monae, Paramore, Blackpink, Adele, Rosala, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Diddy, Karol G, Tomorrow X Together, and Metallica are among the other 2023 VMAs candidates.
Beyoncé is up for Artist of the Year. She is not eligible for any additional awards because she did not release any music videos in conjunction with the release of Renaissance.
