Mohanlal caught in the web of coronavirus spread, police spring into action

The hoax image of Malayalam actor Mohanlal's death news has now gone viral in the online space while coronavirus has been plaguing the nation

At a time when coronavirus outbreak has been a cause of concern across the nation, a piece of fake news has been gaining the limelight. In the news, it was mentioned that Mollywood superstar Mohanlal had died of COVID-19.

 

On April 1, 2020, a man named Sameer shared a post on Facebook claiming that Mohanlal has died due to coronavirus infection. The social media user also shared an image of the actor from a movie in which he was lying down dead.

Within minutes, the post went viral and the state president of Mohanlal Fans and Cultural Welfare Association, Vimal, took to his social media page to clarify that the news is fake.

Now the Kerala Police has promised to take a strict action against the man who spread the fake message. 

But according to Kairali news report, it is said that Rajith Kumar's fans spread this false news. Rajith is a Bigg Boss Malayalam contestant, who was eliminated by Mohanlal. He has earned widespread criticism over the same.
