Kochi: Mollywood actor Dileep has sent the visuals of the alleged abduction to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Chandigarh, to check its authenticity. According to reports, the memory card, which was sent to CFSL contains visuals of the assault.
The complete expense of the lab test will be borne by Dileep. He is the eighth accused in the Kerala actress abduction case.
Questions regarding the authenticity of the visuals were prepared with the help of an expert who viewed the footage. Additional Special Sessions Court Eranakulam had arranged a session for the expert to view the footage.
Dileep’s counsel and a digital expert were allowed to examine the visuals at the trial court in Ernakulam following the Supreme Court order.
Dileep's plea to attain the copy of the memory card was primarily rejected by the Angamaly Magistrate court on February 7, 2018, and was even rejected by the Kerala high court in August 2018.
Following these rejections, Dileep moved the Supreme Court.
On February 17, 2017, a south Indian actor was abducted and assaulted by a group of men in a moving car.
