Kalki Koechlin, or @Kalkikanmani as she is known in her official Twitter and Instagram handles, was born in Pondicherry and brought up in Ooty, in Tamil Nadu.
In one of her interviews to a web portal a while ago, Kalki had said that Kanmani was her pet name when she was a child.
What does Kanmani mean?
It means cute, and the word is equivalent to the phrase ‘Apple of my eyes’ or ‘Meri Ankhon ka Tara’. It would seem she likes to retain memories of her Ooty days. And why not, Kanmani sounds cute.
