After battling with the Central Board, 'Udta Punjab' was cleared to release on Friday. However on Wednesday, a copy of the movie - marked 'for censor' - leaked online. A copy of the movie Udta Punjab marked 'for censor' started doing the rounds on torrent sites. The same copy was played on TV channels as well.
Tamil superstar Suriya Sivakumar condemned this move and tweeted-
The clash between the filmmakers and CBFC has been raging over the past few days. The board had ordered as many as 89 cuts in the movie. But the Bombay High Court slammed the censor board and directed that the film is cleared with one a single cut - a scene which shows Shahid Kapoor’s character urinating on an audience.
Anurag Kashyap took to his social media handles and urged people to not watch the pirated version and to at least wait till Saturday to decide.
