Now a  Kabali themed wedding in Kerala

Synopsis

Taking Kabali-mania to new heights, a Rajini fan from Kerala decided to have a wedding that had the newly-released flm as its theme, from start to finish.

Anand Thekkedom from Kottayam, an avid Rajini fan and employee of Southwest Airlines in the US, dressed up in Kabali suits for the wedding, complete with cigars and other gangsta movie props.

Thekkedom had just ten days to prepare for his wedding ceremony. After reaching Kottayam, he and his brother Ashique consulted photographer and friend Arjun Thomas who advised him for to go for a Kabali-themed wedding. However, the Rajini fan got little support for his enterprising plans from his relatives.  His mother felt using a black Contessa car (a similarly coloured Mercedes employed by Rajini in the film was obviosly too expensive) would be inasupicious for the purposes of the wedding. But he went ahead with the plans, nontheless, what with his wife-te-be Riya offering unstinted support.

The next challenge was to procure Kabali-style suits, shades and cigars for the groom and his friends. Once the attire was ready, the men clicked some 'candid' shots and the next day they proceeded to a local church for the wedding. The entire venue was designed like a gangster movie studio set.

Thekkedom, who received compliments and media attention for his Kabali wedding, is now on cloud nine. But amidst the arclights, Thekkedom is a bit disappointed as he would have to leave for the US soon, and will miss all the fun of watching the Rajini movie in a local theatre, multiple times, with friends.
