Hema Malini to restrict tweets to film and dance activities

Synopsis

Malini says she will restrict her Twitter updates to her Bollywood and dancing activities. The 65-year-old actress says her political functioning anyway gets media coverage, so she would like her Twitter feed to be only about her work as an artiste.

“After giving it a lot of thought, I’ve decided to restrict my Twitter updates to my film and dance activities. I am an artiste and will always remain one. I started this for my fans and will continue to give them news of my activities other than politics. That side of my life is any way covered by the media,” she has tweeted.

Malini was called “insensitive” by the Twitterati after she posted photos from her Mumbai shoot of 'Ek Thi Rani'. She later deleted the images and posted a tweet condoling the deaths in the clashes. The veteran actress said she has worked “sincerely” for her constituency and does not need to be told by anyone to do so. “As an MP I have always worked sincerely for my constituency and will continue to do so without being prompted by anyone. My conscience is clear.”

Talking about her Bollywood career, Malini said she is excited about her upcoming Hindi film with Rajkummar Rao.  The movie has been directed by Ramesh Sippy, who has earlier worked with Malini in films like 'Sholay' and 'Seeta Aur Geeta'.      “And now for something for my fans. ‘Shimla Mirch’ is ready for release. A lovely lighthearted film, it is bound to find favor with everyone. I have just completed the dubbing and feel happy with the result. Working with Ramesh Sippyji was a pleasure and I’m looking forward to the release too.”
