Rakshit Shetty was born at Alevooru in Udupi district on June 6 in 1983. He graduated in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NMAM Institute of Technology at Nitte in Udupi. He worked as a software professional for two years before becoming an actor starting in the theatre.

Though Nam Areal Ondina was his first movie in 2010, he came to the limelight after Simple Agi Ond Love Story in 2013. He took two years to bring Ulidavaru Kandanthe on screen, which made the Kannada Film Industry look up to Rakshit as a serious filmmaker. He not only acted in the lead role in the movie but also mesmerised the audience as well as critics by scripting and directing the movie.

Since then there has been no looking back. With the recent release of Kirik Party, directed by his brother Rishabh Shetty crossing successful 100 days recently, Rakshit is on cloud nine.
