James Michael Tyler, who was popularly known for his role as Gunther, in Friends passed away. The actor was battling prostate cancer.

Friends fan woke up to a bad piece of news with James Michael Tyler, who was popularly known for playing Gunther on the American Television Sitcom has passed away. The actor died in his home in Los Angeles after battling prostate cancer. James Michael Tyler played the role of Gunther, coffee shop manager at Central Perk, where all the Friends would hang out all the time in the sitcom. His Friends characters appeared in some 150 episodes across all ten seasons of the 1990's sitcom. James Michael Tyler had also appeared in a number of other roles in series such as Scrubs, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Modern Music. Warner Bros TV tweeted that it was mourning the loss of "A beloved actor an integral part of our FRIENDS family. Our thoughts are with his family, FRIENDS family. Friends stars took to their social media accounts and shared emotional posts for the late actor. The entire fans and Friends fraternity is in an utter state of shock after learning about James Michael Tyler's demise. He will always be remembered as the "coffee man" from Friends.
