Dhanush’s Kara First Song Out: Mamitha Baiju Plays the Lead Opposite Him

The makers of Dhanush's next big film, 'Kara', have just dropped the first song. This movie is directed by Vignesh Raja, the same person who gave us the hit film *Por Thozhil*. The first look, which came out during Pongal, had already created a lot of buzz. Reports also say that Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical OTT rights. According to a report by OTTplay, the film is expected to hit theatres on April 30, 2026. And now, the first song is here to build up the excitement.

Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju is playing the female lead opposite Dhanush in this film. She seems to be on a roll, bagging some huge projects. Mamitha also has an important role in Vijay's upcoming film, *Jana Nayakan*, where she plays his daughter. That's not all! She is also the heroine in *Suriya 46* and was the lead in Pradeep Ranganathan's film, *Dude*.

Dr. Aishari K. Ganesh is producing 'Kara' under the Vels Film International banner. The music for the film is being composed by the popular G.V. Prakash Kumar, and Theni Eswar is handling the cinematography. Another big name from the Malayalam industry, Suraj Venjaramoodu, is also playing a key role in the movie.

Dhanush's last Tamil release was *Idli Kadai*. What's interesting is that Dhanush himself wrote, directed, and starred in it. The film featured Nithya Menen as the heroine, bringing back the hit pair from *Thiruchitrambalam*. *Idli Kadai* was Dhanush's fourth film as a director.
