Actor Daryl McCormack has joined the cast of Apple TV's upcoming untitled thriller series starring Dakota Fanning and Stellan Skarsgard, according to Deadline. The series is created by Emmy-winning creator Alex Cary, known for projects like A Spy Among Friends and Homeland. Backed by Sony Pictures Television, the show follows an undercover Treasury agent played by Fanning, who infiltrates a powerful international conglomerate with far-reaching political and criminal links.
As her mission unfolds, her character finds herself conflicted when she begins to believe that her main target--the heir to the empire--may not be as corrupt as he appears. McCormack will play Kar, the reluctant heir to the conglomerate, while Skarsgard will portray its head, Brandt. The series will be executive produced by Cary under his FLW Productions banner, along with Julie Gardner, Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward. Kari Skogland will direct and also serve as executive producer, with Amy Kaufman attached as EP, according to Deadline.
McCormack, an Irish actor, gained recognition for his role opposite Emma Thompson in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, earning BAFTA and IFTA nominations. He was recently seen in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, part of Rian Johnson's popular whodunit franchise. His upcoming projects include Cry to Heaven, directed by Tom Ford, and a Netflix adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by Dolly Alderton, according to Deadline. (ANI)
