
Kollywood actors have come together to help the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers as they have lost their livelihood due to the coronavirus outbreak. On March 16, Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers announced that the industry will shut operations indefinitely as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.
According to reports, Superstar Rajinikanth has donated Rs 50 lakh to Film Employees Federation of South India workers.
On March 23, actor Sivakumar and his sons Suriya and Karthi donated Rs 10 lakh to FEFSI workers. Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan and VijaySethupathi too have donated Rs 10 lakh each for the welfare of FEFSI members.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government has announced that ration card holders in the state will be given rice, sugar and a relief of Rs 1,000 for ration card holders as the state fights novel coronavirus outbreak. Tamil Nadu health minister C Vijayabaskar said three new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state, taking the total number of cases in Tamil Nadu to 12.
"Three new COVID-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu - 25-year-old who had returned from London, 48-year-old had returned from London and 54-year-old resident of Anna Nagar," Vijayabaskar said. "All three are in isolation and treatment," added Vijayabaskar.
