Bigg Boss 13 runner-up Asim Riaz has finally broken his silence on ex-girlfriend Himanshi Khurana's recent comments about their past relationship and denied that he ever asked her to change her religion. The model-turned-rapper addressed the matter in a lengthy post on Instagram on Sunday. Although he did not name Himanshi directly, his post came after the actress spoke about their relationship and their different faiths during a recent podcast.
Asim Riaz Addresses Religion Controversy
In his post, Asim said he had never asked anyone to change their religion and asked people not to use the issue to portray him in a negative way. Calling religion a "deeply sensitive subject", he also said that a personal matter should not be turned into a public controversy.
"I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You've been in this shape only after meeting me before that, everyone knew how you looked," his post read.
"So please, don't use religion as a weapon. It's a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you're willing to go for attention," he added.

Takes a Dig at Paras Chhabra
The reality star went on to take a dig at Paras Chhabra, who was reportedly part of the discussion around the matter. Asim lashed out at him for speaking about other people's lives and made a comment about his weight. "And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I'd suggest spending a little less time discussing other people's lives and a little more time in the gym," Asim wrote.
Background of the Controversy
The controversy began after Himanshi spoke about reports that she had considered changing her religion while dating Asim. Without taking names the actor said she would not call it "conversion" and explained that her then-boyfriend had shared the good things about his religion with her and wanted her to understand and respect them.
Asim and Himanshi met during Bigg Boss 13. After the show, the two continued their relationship for several years. They announced their separation in 2023 after around four years together.
