Anupam Shyam, 63 died at a hospital in Mumbai last night, August 08, after a long battle with a kidney ailment. He was well-known for his performance in TV show Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya. He did many Bollywood films with big stars like Slumdog Millionaire, Bandit Queen, Lagaan, Nayak: The Real Hero, Dil Se, Lajja etc.

— ANI (@ANI)Anupam Shyam was undergoing treatment at a hospital for the last few days after being admitted with renal problems. The actor breathed his last at the hospital in the presence of his brothers, Anurag and Kanchan.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit mourned his death and wrote, "Sad to know about the demise of one of the finest actors & a great human being #AnupamShyam due to multiple organ failure . My heartfelt condolences to his family. A great loss to the film & tv industry (sic)."

Since last year, Anupam Shyam has faced many financial issues due to his ill health and growing debts. He was suffering from kidney disease for more than a year. It was reported that Manoj Bajpayee and Sonu Sood, among few others, had then come forward to help him as soon as the news came out of his condition.
