Singhania, who passed away on March 28, 2026, in Mumbai at the age of 87, served as chairman of the Raymond Group from 1980 to 2000. During his tenure, he transformed the company into a global textile and apparel powerhouse while expanding its interests into engineering and aviation. He is credited with cementing the "Complete Man" positioning, which became one of India's most recognisable brand campaigns.
Beyond business, Singhania was a celebrated aviator who held multiple world records. His contributions extended into public service as well; he was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2006, held the honorary rank of Air Commodore in the Indian Air Force, and served as the Sheriff of Mumbai.
