The campaign will be inaugurated by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on April 13, where he will address street corner meeting in Dum Dum and Baranagar assembly constituencies.

According to BJP sources, the party has deliberately planned to hold these street corner meetings in the evenings keeping in mind people's convenience. These meetings will take place in easy to access areas such as housing societies and community centres.

In his meetings, Amit Shah is expected to focus on the governance and infrastructure-related issues facing the city.

BJP sources said that Kolkata, the cultural capital of India that led the way in the advancement of literature, spirituality, music and cinema in the country, was today crumbling due to the neglect by state governments of the past.

The city and its people have been facing many issues on multiple fronts such as crumbling infrastructure, inadequate healthcare facilities, lack of economic growth and growing concerns around the safety of women, among others, BJP sources added.

Four phases of assembly elections in West Bengal are over. Another four phases are left.
