West Bengal: Amit Shah unveils BJP’s election manifesto in Kolkata, promises 33% reservation in jobs for women

Kolkata: Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday released the manifesto for West Bengal from Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata. The Home Minister, earlier today, addressed a public meeting at Egra in Purba Medinipur.

Unveiling the manifesto, Shah said the party has decided to call it a 'Sankalp Patra'. It is not just a manifesto but a resolution letter for West Bengal by the country's largest party, he said.

Emphasising that ‘Sonar Bangla’ is at the heart of BJP’s manifesto, the Home Minister targeted the Trinamool government under Mamata accusing the party of corruption in all sectors.

The Home Minister while announcing the manifesto promised 33% reservation for women in government jobs in the state. He also said that fishermen in West Bengal will be given assistance worth Rs 6000 annually by the BJP if elected to power.

Highlights of BJP’s manifesto:

·         33% reservation in jobs for women in West Bengal.

·         Women to travel free on public transport.

·         75 lakh farmers to benefit from Kisan Samman Nidhi.

·         All fieshermen to get Rs 6000 every year.

·         Infiltration to be completely stopped, border fencing to be strengthened and CCTVs installed.

·         No court permissions will be needed for Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja. Kolkata's Durga Puja celebration to be made an international event.

·         Free education for girls from KG to PG.

·         Implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Bengal in first cabinet.

·         Refugee families will get Rs 10,000 every year.

·         Creation of 3 AIIMS.

·         Creation of Sonar Bangla fund worth Rs 11,000 crore.

·         Implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

·         7th Pay Commission to be implemented.

·         Bengal to be within top 3 states in ease of doing business.

·         Three meals a day at Rs 5 at govt canteens.
