Stones were pelted at Kannada film star Darshan's car when the actor was returning from Nagamangala after campaigning for Sumalatha. Here is why he will not take part in campaigning for five days.
Mandya: Some miscreants pelted stones at Kannada film star Darshan's car when the actor was busy campaigning for Sumalatha in Nagamangala near Mandya.
JD(S) workers are said to have pelted stones at Darshan's car when he was returning to Mysuru after campaigning at Anchechittanahalli.
This led to heated argument between Darshan's fans and the JD(S) workers and police had to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.
But Darshan's car was not damaged nor the actor was injured in the stone pelting incident.
As per latest reports, Darshan will not take part in campaigning for five days. It is said that stone pelting is not the reason behind the actor taking this decision.
Darshan will be taking rest and it was pre-decided in his election campaign schedule. The actor had clarified that he wouldn't campaign on Saturday and Sunday as he wants to be with his family to celebrate Ugadi festival. But due to unavoidable circumstances, he is not being able to take part in campaigning on Friday (this week), Monday and Tuesday.
Both Darshan and Yash will campaign for 11 days. Darshan has already made rounds of Srirangapatna, Mandya, KR Pete and Nagamangala.
However, Yash who has made time for Sumalatha despite KGF - 2 shooting will just take two days off to celebrate Ugadi.
Sumalatha, the wife of late actor-politician Ambareesh, is contesting as an independent candidate against chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil of the JD(S) in the Mandya Lok Sabha election.
