Bengal wants ‘shanti’, ‘sonar’, ‘pragatisheel Bangla’: PM Modi at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground

 This is PM Modi’s first public rally in the state after the announcement of the dates for eight-phased Assembly polls for 294 constituencies in West Bengal.
 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing a mega rally at the iconic Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata to pitch for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming assembly polls in the state.

This is PM Modi’s first public rally in the state after the announcement of the dates for eight-phased Assembly polls for 294 constituencies in West Bengal.

Prior to the PM's arrival at the venue, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty joined the BJP at Brigade Parade Ground.

Here is a look at the highlights from his address.

·  We will bring “asol parivartan” (real change) where all progress but nobody is appeased, infiltration is stopped.

·  I have addressed 100s of rallies in my political life but such a huge crowd giving its blessings, I am only able to witness this today.

·  This Brigade Parade Ground has been witness to many great leaders and also witnessed those who have disrupted West Bengal's progress. People of Bengal never left their hopes for change.

·  Bengal had trusted Mamata did to bring change. However, didi and her cadre have broken that trust. These people have broken the trust of Bengal. They have humiliated Bengal. They have tortured the sisters and daughters of Bengal.

·  The next 25 years are very important for the development of Bengal. The development here in the next 5 years will lay the foundation for State’s development in the next 25 years.

·  The dream of ‘sonar bangla’ will be fulfilled. Today, I have come here today to assure you of Bengal’s development, to increase investment here, to protect Bengal’s culture and to bring change.

·  I have come here to make you believe that we'll work hard for farmers, businessmen and the development of sisters and daughters. We will work every moment to fulfil your dreams.

·  In 2047, when India will celebrate 100 years of independence, Bengal will lead the country once again.

·  You know it very well how the democratic system has been destroyed here. BJP will strengthen this system. We will bring the change to re-establish public belief in govt systems, in the police, and the administration.
