A shocking incident of a BSF jawan killing two of his colleagues has been reported from Raiganj in West Bengal. The victims were identified as Mahinder Singh Bhatti and Anuj Kumar. The BSF jawan has surrendered to police  

Kolkata: West Bengal’s Raiganj was shocked after a BSF jawan killed two of his colleagues in North Dinajpur district on Tuesday (August 4).

According to reports, the Border Security Force (BSF) jawan fired at his colleagues Mahinder Singh Bhatti, an inspector, and Anuj Kumar, a constable, and after they were shot, he went and surrendered before the Raiganj Police. As per reports, the incident happened in Maldakhand area at 8 am on Tuesday.

Following the firing, police immediately stopped the villagers’ movements in the area for some time and the injured were taken to hospital. However, the doctors declared them brought dead.

Police who have taken up a case under Indian Penal Code 302 (murder) are yet to get clarity on why the jawan shot at his colleagues.

Meanwhile, his mental condition is being examined.
