Jammu and Kashmir: 3 suspected terrorists caught in Kupwara; arms recovered

Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, the Indian Army apprehended three people suspected to be terrorists and recovered weapons from them

Srinagar: The Indian Army has apprehended three suspected terrorists during a search operation in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The three suspects were caught following the inputs of an unusual movement at Lalpora area in Kupwara by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Following this, a joint search operation was launched by the security forces on Monday (August 10) in which three were caught, an army official said, as per a report.

Arms and ammunition were recovered during the operation. “One AK assault rifle, two pistols and some ammunition were recovered,”  the official was quoted as saying.

As the country will be celebrating Independence day on August 15, the Indian forces have upped their search and intelligence on unusual movements by terrorists near the border.
