Sunil Gavaskar is a legendary former Indian cricketer and captain. Commonly known as the 'Little Master', he happened to be India's one of the highest run-scorers in international cricket before Sachin Tendulkar excelled him. It has been 50 years since Gavaskar made his international debut.

Legendary former Indian cricketer and captain Sunil Gavaskar remains one of the most respected cricketers, not just in India but worldwide. It was precisely 50 years ago when he had made his international debut in a Test against the Windies.

As he marks his 50th anniversary of being associated with cricket, he was complimented by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. On Saturday, during Day 3 of the fourth and final Test between India and England for the Anthony de Mello Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, he was presented with a commemorative Test cap by Jay Shah (BCCI Secretary).
