Virat Kohli's gameplan against New Zealand in WTC final revealed as leaked audio goes viral

Synopsis

India is all set to take on New Zealand on June 18 in the final of the ICC World Test Championship in Southampton. India lost to Kiwis in its last series in New Zealand. Meanwhile, skipper Virat Kohli has seemingly decided his game plan against the Kiwis.

Team India would have an arduous task at hand when it takes on New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton from June 18. India would be under pressure, failing to beat the side in a two-Test series in New Zealand last year.

India left for England on Wednesday night. Before its departure, it took part in the mandatory press conference in Mumbai. However, it was something before the PC that has got everyone talking.

Kohli supposedly has his game plan ready against the Kiwi batsman. In a recently leaked audio, before the PC was about to start, Kohli talked about his bowling attack against the Kiwis to head coach Ravi Shastri.

“Hum inko round the wicket dalwayenge, Left handers hai inpe, Lala Siraj sabko start se hi laga denge (We will get him round the wicket, left handers are in, Lala Siraj will put them all from the start),” said Kohli. At the same time, Shastri approved Kohli’s plans by saying, “Hmmm”, before being reminded that they had gone live.

However, this has also got the Indian cricket fraternity talking about pacer Mohammed Siraj getting the nod ahead of seamer Mohammed Shami. While Shami is known for his deadly seam, England’s conditions suit him. It would be interesting to see if Kohli can make room for both simultaneously.
