Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy begins operations in Mumbai

Sachin Tendulkar continues to be the greatest cricketer to have ever played the sport. Despite his retirement, he proceeds to pursue numerous cricketing interests, as he looks to train young cricket kids at the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy.
Legendary Indian cricketer and Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar has no intentions to quit the sport even after his retirement. He continues to invest in various ventures of the sport, as his latest one comes up to be the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy.
In January, Tendulkar launched the same academy at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. However, the actual training sessions did not begin owing to some delays and the COVID challenges.
Meanwhile, according to a recent statement by the academy, training sessions are scheduled to get underway from the second week of January, next year. Kids aged between 7-21 are open to enrol and undergo training at the world-class academy, while technical training was already being given through Zoom meetings.

"We are very pleased to start academy training in January 2021. While we remained closed this year, to ensure the safety of our athletes and trainers and to stave off the spread of COVID-19, we are now ready to accept young aspirational individuals who would like to realise their full potential on the field," said Dr Vijay D Patil in the statement.
"I think it's such a great initiative and it's going to be absolutely instrumental in shaping future sports stars of which India certainly has no dearth. I look forward to working with the immensely talented, young athletes from across the country," said Josh Knappet, the Global Head Coach and a former First-Class English cricketer.
The academy bolsters of all the modern-day and world-class amenities, needed for any cricketer. Located at the DY Patil Sports Academy campus, it already has the TMGA DY Patil Sports Centre and the DY Patil Sports Stadium, a modernised venue for multiple sporting activities and events.
