Dean Jones was a renowned batsman for Australia, having represented the side over 200 matches. He had scored around 10,000 international runs. He passed away in Mumbai on September, while on commentary duty during the Indian Premier League.

Three months after former Australian batsman and commentator Dean Jones breathed his last, he was honoured by Cricket Australia (CA) in Melbourne. It was on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), on Saturday, when CA honoured Victorian.

CA shared a video on its Twitter handle, where his family members and some CA members were seen on the ground. His wife and daughter walked onto the pitch to place a bat supporting the stumps, with a cap on top, to pay tribute to the legend. The post was captioned, A wonderful tribute to an Aussie legend. Rest easy, Deano #AUSvIND".

It was followed by another tweet from CA, with the picture of the bat and the cap, captioned "The @MCG will always belong to Dean Jones #AUSvIND".
