Sourav Ganguly Health Update: BCCI president to undergo second Angioplasty on Tuesday

Sourav Ganguly is the reigning president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India since 2019. He suffered a mild heart attack on Saturday morning and is admitted to the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata. After undergoing Angioplasty, he is currently stable.

Former Indian skipper and reigning president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly is in the headlines for the past couple of days, as he suffered a mild heart attack. Nonetheless, he is stable, as he continues to recover and undergoes all necessary treatments.

Roundup: It was on Saturday morning when he complained of severe chest pain after a morning workout session. He was rushed to the Woodlands hospital in Kolkata, where he was diagnosed to have suffered a mild heart attack, as he underwent an Angioplasty. On Sunday, he remained stable throughout the day, while another Angioplasty is expected to be performed within the next 48 hours, reports News 18.

Following the incident, renowned sports athletes wished him a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, on Sunday Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a chat with Ganguly over the phone. Other political leaders like West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, met him at the hospital.

On Sunday night, it was learned that famous cardiac surgeon, Dr Devi Shetty, would join the other three doctors (Dr Saroj Mandal, Dr Soutik Panda, Dr Saptarshi Basu) to attend Ganguly's medical procedures. She is expected to arrive in Kolkata on Monday.
