Mohammed Siraj gifts himself a BMW post Border-Gavaskar Trophy success (Watch video)

Synopsis

India produced an exceptional performance to tame Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Down Under, and retain the crown. The series was highlighted by debutant pacer, Mohammed Siraj's success, who now seems to be enjoying a luxurious life in Hyderabad.

As Team India continues to celebrate its laudable success in the just-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, players have returned home with happy faces. Besides, they have also been given a hero's welcome upon their return, especially at their hometown.

The series was notable for debutant pacer, Mohammed Siraj's performance. Making his debut in the Boxing Day Test, in Melbourne, he went on to play three games, following a string of injuries in the side. He finished as India's highest wicket-taker, claiming 13 wickets at an average of 29.54, including a five-for.

Naturally, this performance has allowed Siraj to earn huge bucks from this series, including a ₹5 crore bonus from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. To impress himself and enjoy the success, he has recently gifted himself a BMW car.

Siraj posted a video story of the same on his Instagram handle, where he displays his black BMW's interior. He also took it out for a ride on the streets of Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the series in Australia was of great personal significance to Siraj, since his father had passed away right a week after he landed in Australia. As he decided to stay and serve the team, he dedicated the success to his late father.

Upon arrival in Hyderabad, Siraj visited the grave of his father, right from the airport. There, he was seen laying flowers on his graves, besides offering prayers.

In the meantime, he has also been included in the 18-member squad for the four-Test series against England. India is the Anthony de Mello Trophy defending champion, as the series gets underway from February 5.
