Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the IPL sides to play for special causes. During its game against Kolkata Knight Riders on September 20, it would wear a special blue jersey to honour frontline COVID workers.

The 2021 Indian Premier League is about to resume in the United Arab Emirates from September 19. The tournament was suspended in May this year after COVID in India breached the team bubbles.

As the tournament resumes in the pandemic for the third time, the franchises respect the frontline COVID workers. The warriors are tirelessly doing their job to ensure everyone fights off the deadly infection.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore happens to be one of the IPL sides to play and contribute to social causes. In the same light, the RCB players would be donning a special blue jersey during their September 20 game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi to honour the frontline COVID warriors.

“We at Royal Challengers Bangalore are honoured to sport the Blue kit, that resembles the colour of the PPE kits of the frontline warriors, to pay tribute to their selfless and invaluable service while leading the fight against the Covid pandemic,” RCB captioned a video post of the announcement on social media.

RCB continued to share some of its previous match photos, converting the colour to blue in connection to the particular cause. “We’re very excited about our special Blue Jersey initiative, and we would want to thank our frontline warriors from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️💙” the post was captioned.

RCB is also famous for its ‘Go Green’ initiative. As a part of this drive, it wears green jerseys on a particular matchday each season.
