Mitchell McClenaghan is a New Zealand pace bowler. He had played in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians between 2015-20 and won three titles with the side. Virat Kohli is leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021, as the side is currently on the top.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is currently in an unstoppable mood. In the ongoing Indian Premier League, RCB is presently on the top of the table, having won five of the six games it has played so far.

RCB is coming off a thrilling one-run win over Delhi Capitals on Tuesday night. However, an incident was brought into the limelight, as RCB skipper Virat Kohli appealed when DC skipper Rishabh Pant was struck on the pads off the opening delivery from spinner Washington Sundar. While the umpired initially raised his finger, the decision was overturned after Pant went for the review and UltraEdge confirmed that he had knocked the ball before the ball hit his pads.

The incident drew the attention of New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan, who slammed Kohli for appealing excessively as many as five times. "Disgraceful - appeal - not suppose to be able to appeal 5 times #RCBvDC," he wrote on Twitter.

However, fans did not correctly take McClenaghan's criticism and instead began trolling the former Mumbai Indians pacer. While this fan urged the Kiwi to keep crying, the latter gave it back to the fan.

In another debate, a fan argued that there was no such rule against excessive appealing. While McClenaghan corrected him, the fan maintained his stand that nothing was wrong with it.

There’s no rule like that . You can appeal as long as you wish .

— ARJUN (@Viratian0512)

Fair enough then , dint see much wrong in that appeal . But if that’s how it is , it is 🙂.

Meanwhile, some other fans mocked him by commenting that he would remain unsold in IPL 2022 auction.
