Mumbai Indians faced a reality check after succumbing to a seven-wicket defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021. Following the same, social media reacted in its unique style of memes.
Match 34 between defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and former champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) turned out to be a uniquely one-sided encounter, as the latter secured a seven-wicket win at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. KKR made it look relatively easy against the champ, especially during the chase.
Consequently, KKR has risen to the fourth spot in the table, a place above MI and is now well in contention to qualify for the playoffs. While MI has suffered consecutive twin losses now, it seems to be a reality check for them.
