Kolkata: The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday (September 9) left for Dubai for IPL 2020.
The cash-rich Twenty20 league will be played in the UAE from September 19 to November 10. The BCCI has released the full fixtures for the 13th edition of the league.
Taking to his Instagram account, Ganguly posted two pictures and said it was his first flight in six months.
“My first flight in 6months to dubai for IPL.. crazy life changes .. (sic),” the former India captain wrote.
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, IPL 2020 was moved out of India. The tournament was originally slated to be held in India from March to May.
This will be first IPL for Ganguly as the BCCI president. He took charge as the head of the Indian cricket board in October 2019.
In the opening match of IPL 2020, defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Abu Dhabi.
