IPL 2020: CSK players and support staff test negative for COVID-19, say reports

In a major relief for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of IPL 2020, all their players and support staff have tested negative for COVID-19

Dubai: All the members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) contingent who had tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) have now returned negative, according to reports on Tuesday (September 1).

After landing in Dubai for IPL 2020, 13 members of CSK franchise including two players, were COVID positive. Now, the men in yellow heaved a sigh of relief with the latest test results turning out to be negative for all the players and support staff, media reports claimed.

Again on September 3, all the members of CSK will be tested. If reports come out negative, then the MS Dhoni-led side can start training for the Twenty20 tournament which starts on September 19.

Last week, CSK were hit by the withdrawal of their main batsman Suresh Raina. The left-hander decided to fly back home due to personal reasons. He will miss the entire season of the IPL.

Meanwhile, CSK’s South African players Faf du Plessis  and Lungi Ngidi landed in Dubai to join their teammates. They will be under mandatory quarantine for six days.
