India is fighting out hard against England in the second Test of the Anthony de Mello Trophy, at the MA Chidambaram (Chepauk) Stadium in Chennai. On Day1 (Saturday), Indian skipper, Virat Kohli was at the receiving end of memes from fans on social media, owing to his miserable performance with the bat.
Kohli was dismissed for an unfortunate duck after facing just five deliveries from the spinner, Moeen Ali. The ball was pitched on the good length outside off, as Kohli went for a cover drive. However, the ball took a sharp turn and hit the top of the bails, as a result bowling him out.
While Kohli was left startled for a moment, unaware of what just happened, he consulted senior opener, Rohit Sharma, at the non-striker’s end. He decided to go for a review, believing that it might have been wicketkeeper Ben Foakes, who possibly could have accidentally dislodged the bails. However, replays suggested otherwise, as it turned out to be a legit dismissal.
Following his dismissal, fans took to social media and created numerous mems of him being out. Here are a few of them:

Meanwhile, legendary former English skipper, Michael Vaughan reacted to the same by tweeting, “Getting an Indian legend bowled through the gate isn’t that difficult as an off-spinner !!! #JustSaying #INDvENG”. It was a reminder of how he had similarly dismissed Master Balster, Sachin Tendulkar, at Trent Bridge in 2002.
