Following a tough loss in the second Test of the ongoing four-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia has decided to make a couple of changes in the squad for the upcoming third Test in Sydney. Opener Joe Burns faces the axe, as David Warner returns to the side, along with Will Pucovski.
Australia had won the opening day-night Test in Australia by eight wickets, before losing the following Boxing Day Test in Melbourne by the same margin. Notably, Warner did not play in both the Tests, as he was recovering from a groin injury, he suffered during the One-Day Internationals (ODI).
Meanwhile, a cricket.com.au update says that Burns has been dropped for the Sydney Test owing to his current poor form. He has managed to score just 63 runs in the four innings, at a low-grade average of 21.00, including only a half-century.

As for Warner, he has more or less recovered from his groin injury and is likely to find a place in the third Test's playing XI. Warner had also missed out on the Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) for the same, as India won the series, 2-1.
Meanwhile, top-order batsman Will Pucovski has also been included and is in line for his debut in Sydney. He had been ruled out of the opening two Tests owing to a concussion he suffered some time back.
Australia's updated Test squad: Tim Paine (c), Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, James Pattinson, Will Pucovski, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Wade and David Warner.
