Prisoner under observation in coronavirus ward escapes from Kerala jail

 Ajay Babu, who was under observation in coronavirus ward in Kannur Central Jail, Kerala, after breaking the ventilation in the observation ward

Kannur: A prisoner, who was kept under observation in coronavirus ward, allegedly escaped from Kannur Central Jail, Kerala. The prisoner is identified as Ajay Babu. He is a native of Uttar Pradesh.

Ajay was arrested in a robbery case. He was brought to Kannur Central Jail on March 25. The prisoner was shifted to the observation ward in the jail as he was brought from Kasaragod, which has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the state.  It is reported that he escaped after breaking the ventilation in the observation ward.

Kerala coronavirus:

21 new coronavirus cases were reported as of 9 am on April 3 in Kerala, according to data released by the ministry of health and family welfare. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Kerala to 286. Among the total people infected as on date, 27 have recovered and 2 have passed away.
