PM Modi to physically track Covid vaccine progress

Synopsis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tomorrow embark on a three-city visit to review the development of the Covid-19 vaccine.  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tomorrow embark on a three-city visit to review the development of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The Prime Minister's Office on Friday said that he will "personally review the (coronavirus) vaccine development and manufacturing process".

The PMO statement said, "As India enters a decisive phase of the fight against COVID-19, PM Modi's visit to these facilities and discussions with the scientists will help him get a first hand perspective of the preparations, challenges & roadmap in India’s endeavour to vaccinate its citizens."

The Prime Minister will first visit the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad following which he will track the vaccine progress at the Serum Institute of India in Pune.

From there the Prime Minister will head to the Bharat Biotech facility in Hyderabad before flying back to Delhi.
