Days after the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations deferred Class 10 and 12 examinations, the board has now decided to cancel the Class 10 examination and delay the same for Class 12.
In an announcement, the ICSE said that it was cancelling the Class 10 examination considering the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country.
"The safety and wellbeing of students and teaching faculty is our topmost priority and of paramount interest," the ICSE said in the statement.
CISCE affiliated schools have been told to begin the admission process for Class 11 admission. They have also been told to prepare a schedule to start online classes for Class 11 students at the earliest.
The criterion on which results will be declared for Class 10 and the date of the result will be announced by the CISCE later.
