According to the instructions, the move is intended to enhance "resolve to listen to and follow the Party," and new instructional materials must "cultivate patriotic emotions."
Since taking office in 2012, China's President has worked to increase the influence of the governing Chinese Communist Party in all aspects of society, including its companies, schools, and cultural organisations.
In 2018, the country's constitution legally codified "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era." The removal of presidential term limits has also bolstered Xi's influence. In a speech marking the Communist Party's centennial in July, Xi pledged to "improve" the Party's leadership, preserve his own "core" leadership, and deepen Chinese people unity.

In other news, China accused the United States of "creating a catastrophic mess" in Afghanistan when the Taliban took power, causing US troops and allies a chaotic exit.

At a daily news briefing, she said that Washington's power and function are destruction, not creation. On Monday, Hua declared that China is prepared to maintain "friendly and productive" relations with Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
