According to the company's 25X5 strategy for 2025, just 25 per cent of its over 500,000 worldwide employees will be in office locations at any given time, with associates spending only 25 per cent of their time in the office.

Many firms in India and overseas are experimenting with a hybrid work culture model in which workers would be required to work from the office only a few days a week and from home the rest of the time. Tata Consultancy Services has stated that it intends to return 70-80 per cent of its employees to the office by the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022. It may eventually transition to a hybrid model. According to the company's 25X5 strategy for 2025, just 25 per cent of its over 500,000 worldwide employees will be in office locations at any given time, with associates spending only 25 per cent of their time in the office. Furthermore, only 25 per cent of staff in project teams can be co-located.

TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan initially mentioned the company's 25x25 or 25/25 strategy in the company's FY20 annual report. He's mentioned it several times since then. Gopinathan stated at the presentation of the annual report that clients are comfortable with this model and want them to take on additional business. It has given us the courage to launch a daring new Vision 25/25, he continued.

It should be mentioned that when the COVID-19 epidemic reached India in 2020, TCS was an early adopter of the work-from-home concept. Since April 2020, its 488,649 employees across the world have been able to work from home.

Under TCS's 25 by 25 vision – by 2025, only 25 per cent of TCS workforce will work out of TCS facilities at any time, with associates spending only 25 per cent of their time in the office, based on the same model that allowed the company to make remote work possible for 95 per cent of employees in 2020 in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The company's goal is to enhance velocity, throughput, or productivity by 25%.
