Andhra Pradesh information technology minister Nara Lokesh conducted a meeting with the IT officials in the secretariat on Friday, and warned the officials that since AP stands the uppermost in IT usage, it is very susceptible to cyber attacks.
Nara Lokesh spoke about securing the state from the attack and necessitated the initiation of Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Operation Centre (APCSOC). He cautioned the officials of the danger of other threats like Blue Whale game and stressed on the urgency of a central agency, which can identify and evaluate them even before their onslaught.
The minister also spoke about the increase in cyber crime around the world, with every 12 persons per second falling prey to cyber crime. He also said that the never ending trials to hack government information through ransomware is always assailing. And so there’s a need to organise APCSOC with the best technology with the prominent aim of software security and data security in order to safeguard government information and the privacy of the individual.
Nara Lokesh ordered the officials to organise APCSOC as early as possible by studying cyber security measures in other countries and also to take the assistance of the police department.
